I had just finished my second half marathon and knew the missing component to improve my pace and endurance was more consistent strength training. My strength training before was sporadic at best, and I never seemed to be able to push myself to go hard when I trained at home. I walked into FGF with a goal of becoming a better runner, and I was hooked from the first class. I honestly never thought I’d be able to lift weights - I guess I just didn’t think I was built for it. Luckily, I didn’t listen to myself, and now I am a FGF girl for life!
My biggest fitness accomplishment by far was finishing the Tall Trees 29k in Colville National Forest this past summer. 18 trail miles, in the pouring rain, up a mountain and back, and I finished with a smile on my face.
Finishing Pennies for Pull-Ups and being able to do an unassisted pull-up by the end! I’d love to be able to deadlift my own body weight too. And do an ultramarathon next summer. The list is pretty long actually!
Anything by Cardi B or Iggy Azalea.
Favorite exercises are deadlifts, power cleans and anything Tabata - I love going fast! Least favorite is power snatch and overhead squats...I’ve had legit nightmares about it. I am working on my visualization techniques, though, to overcome my fears! 🤨
“Can’t wait for a coffee after this…” - at the 5:30 AM class 😴
Not once have I ever heard a mean comment, a cruel remark, or any type of bullying directed towards another woman there. This special place will welcome you, no matter what. I love seeing women walk out a little taller and prouder.
I love seeing the coaches dress up every year for Halloween -- who can beat Coach Sav in her Minnie Mouse costume this year?!

My husband Alex and I love just hanging out at home with our dog, Buster…when not working, or outdoor adventuring of course!
Tearing down a mountain trail with my dog, Buster! I love to go trail running! Mostly because eating copious amount of junk foods is expected and it’s called “power hiking”, not walking, which is so much cooler.
A marine biologist.
Reese’s PB cups
Of my integrity to give workouts my all and not cheat when the coaches aren’t looking! (I used to do that...hee hee!)
Feel the fear...do it anyway.
Just give it a shot! {See last question/answer} AND, you won’t look as stupid as you think you’ll look, promise!
